SOU No. 48 (The Southerner) is in detour movement on SCL tracks at Millbrook, NC (just north of Raleigh Yard, NC). SOU No. 48 is one of 213 SOU trains to detour over the SCL Raleigh Division after the washout of SOU's Tye River bridge (Nelson County Virginia) following Hurricane Camille in Aug. 1969. This morning, SOU No. 48 blisters the west track through Millbrook as 4 SOU E8's and 17 cars race north. A most memorable sight!
