Remarks & Notes |
Passengers Tom Seal (left) and Matthew Doti enjoy to view aboard the Silver Splendor as she glides her way through the Cajon Pass on October 17th 2009. The Silver Splendor was part of a 4 car private train appropriately named the Barstow Flyer. The Barstow Flyer was part of a one day excursion trip that ran between LA and Barstow that was hosted by LArail.com. The Silver Splendor was built by the Budd Co. in 1956 as Chicago, Burlington & Quincy No. 4735, a Vista Dome Lounge car. She returned to the rails recently after an almost decade long restoration by her new owner, John Caestecker. You can learn more about the Silver Splendor and other private cars at LArail.com, or http://www.heritagerailways.us/
