Remarks & Notes |
The Wind River Canyon is an amazing sight that some BNSF crews get to see first hand as they work their train along the Wind River. This train is headed north as is the river towards the city of Thermopolis, WY. The rail line through Wind River Canyon was built just before World War I by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railway and it includes 5 tunnels and a trestle. The bridge is on the southern end at the enterance to the canyon near the Boysen Dam which holds back Boysen Reservoir. Boysen State Park is also located at the south end of the Wind River Canyon along with the first tunnel into the canyon. |
