Remarks & Notes
Amtrak's Capital Limited makes its daily stop at Matinsburg, West Virginia. The station here in Martinsburg happens to be the oldest station Amtrak serves on its system. Built in 1849 as a hotel, it was remodeled into a railway station and hotel in 1866. By the way, peaking through the trees is the now closed "NA" tower.

Powerful members of Congress once helped this scenic state get levels of service not seen elsewhere. Now the Capitol Limited and Cardinal are all that remain.
