Remarks & Notes

Transnet Freight Rail's first new diesels in 30-odd years are being built at Transnet Rail Engineering's Koedoespoort workshops, in conjunction with EMD. They are 6-axle, 3200hp locomotives, EMD model GT26CU-3 and TFR's class 39-200. Photographed during a Railway Society of Southern Africa group visit.
