Remarks & Notes |
On There Knees and Crawling.....A monster of a southbound is seen crawling through CPF #499. The sound was absolutely amazing for me as I waited for both units to appear from the curve beyond the crossing in the background. Also for the History buff's look down in the right hand corner for the Cement Slab poking out of the ground. If memory serves me right it was once the location of a water plug back during steam days. To this day the village of Delanson owes the D&H not just for the name for which it was named after but also for there water system which was given to the village once steam was retired. To this day water is still supplied by ancient ponds and travels down a creek which is Damed up below my house high above Delanson in Duanesburg to then be transported in wooden pipes from hollowed out trees buried under ground for many miles to be then treated for the use of residents in the Village. |
