Famed railroad photographer Ted Benson gently removes his antique marker lamps from the one of the coaches of the Golden Sunset Dinner train on March 9th, 2003. This event took place on the Sierra Railroad just one day after the gathering in Stockton for Winterail 2003. To the best of my knowledge, this is one of only a few images that ever graced the cover of a Railroad / Railfan issue that didn’t have a locomotive on the cover, an accomplishment I’ve very proud of. © Steve Crise Photo.
