| A UP trio brings NS train 214 past the construction site where work is being done to get ready for the October 1, 2009, start-up of Northeast Corridor Regional service into Central Virginia. That paved strip to the right of the train and fence is part of Lynchburg's extensive bike & hike trail system. Much of it is built on abandoned N&W rights-of-way. This one follows closely the former Lynchburg & Durham connection with the N&W. |
