| A Southern Pacific diesel locomotive # 2450, an EMD SW 1500 is seen here switching on Alameda Street in Downtown Los Angeles in April of 1975. It’s interesting to note the old RTD bus in the left corner and the lack of tall buildings on the horizon. Also, an interesting technical note regarding this image is that this digital file was not made with a conventional digital scanner but instead it was made using a converted Bessler slide duping machine equipped with a Canon 1Ds Mark III.
