It's been a very long morning for the crew on board UP's MRONP-04 (Salt Lake City, UT to North Platte, NE). The crew was required to wait at the crossovers at CP Strawberry for six hours to allow the passage of priority westward traffic compounded by UP's ultra hot eastbound ZSCCS intermodal and Amtrak's detoured California Zephyr train #6. By mid-morning it was moving along at a reasonable speed, especially when you consider the train had 179 cars and weighed 14,501 gross tons on the grade. The train crew didn't make Green River and was relieved of it's duties at Evanston, Wyoming. Here the monster manifest passes under the historic Lincoln Highway bridge just east of Emory, Utah.
