Here we see Grand Elk Railroad's first attempt at passenger service running from Kalamazoo to Grand Rapids. Ok, just kidding. :-) Actually, Grand Elk was transferring a couple of private passenger cars to Grand Rapids from Kalamazoo after a railroad related event. The two cars, Rock Island "Jane Marie" and Santa Fe "Vista Canyon," (out of view) would then be taken to Chicago the next morning via Amtrak's Pere Marquette.
