Remarks & Notes
Southward container freight train led by a DF200 diesel-electric locomotive passing a torii gate at the entrance to a Shinto shrine in Abuta, Hokkaido, Japan. The train is traveling on the busy route linking Sapporo and Hokkaido with the rest of Japan via the Seikan Tunnel. The city of Abuta serves as the entry to Lake Toya, a volcanic caldera lake that hosted the 2008 G8 summit.
