On a cool and cloudy Summer morning, Union Pacific's Skyline, UT to Trona, CA coal load descends Spanish Fork Canyon a couple of miles west of Rio, Utah. The original D&RGW grade (before the big flood of 1983) was located in the valley below next to 'Bob's Knoll" along what is today US 89. Highway 6, the main route between Spanish Fork and Green River is visible along a bench at far left.
