Remarks & Notes

The Ostroda to Elblag canal uses slipways to gain height. There are 5 separate inclines. The boat floats on to a submerged, 3.27 metre gauge, cradle wagon which then comes out of the water and down the slipway to another section of canal where the boat floats off.An amazing sight.Note the empty wagon ascending.
