Union Pacific's Malad Local slowly backs down an industrial spur, built in 1903 to tap Utah‑Idaho Sugar Company's new factory at Garland, Utah. The crew has two covered hoppers to retrieve at Intermountain Farmers Association, the last active customer along the spur. This rickety old track became all the more quiet when U&I closed the Garland sugar factory in 1979.
