| I find it fitting that the one and only train I saw on the 10 year anniversary of the split of Conrail would be a set of ex-CR SD45-2s. NS 1705 (ex-CR 6666), which was always my favorite Conrail engine, and NS 1702 (ex-CR 6659) head back towards the Chemical Coast after bringing the Oak Island-Browns Yard road train south. My fondest memories (no photos, unfortunately) of Big Blue are of the impressive 45's idling away in the Cresson Engine Facility and shoving trains up the hill including CR 6666. |
