GWR 3200 “Dukedog” Class 4-4-0 no. 9017 (visiting from the Bluebell Railway) passes Garthydwr on the 08.00 Llangollen to Carrog at the Llangollen Railway’s 6880 Bretton Grange Society's “Steel, Steam, & Stars 2” gala. This class of loco was a regular visitor to the line prior to their withdrawal. 9017 was repainted into BR black livery for this gala.
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
