Remarks & Notes
Union Pacific's YRO51R switcher works a lumber yard spur in Utah's city of South Salt Lake. CA-11 caboose #25821 still serves it's original owner faithfully as a shoving platform for this urban remote control switch job. It was built for the UP in May of 1979 back when most every train in the USA had a crew and a caboose at the rear of a freight train. A special thanks to Dave Blaze for his knowledge and expertise in photographing this RCL switcher.

Have you ever watched cabooses, enjoyed their uniqueness, wondered about the men inside, or the jobs they do? Once an everyday sight on the rails, they have decreased in numbers, yet they are a very important part of railroad history.
