A BNSF intermodel streaks past downtown St. Paul and through Dayton's Bluff on this crisp cold night as a few barges huddle together on the Mississippi River. The Twin Cities area accounts for the majority of bridges that cross the mighty Mississippi River and many can be seen here. Water towers dot the top of the hill along with a few other tall structures that rise into the sky and overlook the city. How many light bulbs do you think can be seen in this shot?
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
