The extra services put on for the Avalon International Air Show also featured N class in push-pull mode, which does not occur in normal passenger service. N458, with N453 on the rear, approach Southern Cross station on empty cars from Lara, to form another shuttle to take patrons to the airshow, on a very indifferent day, weatherwise.
