Saturday, May 2, 1981 finds the eastbound "Blackhawk" coming under the Winnebago Street viaduct as it slows for its station stop in Rockford, IL. P30CH 717 has a pair of Amcoaches and a single Amcafe in tow. After loading at the depot the hearty roar of the Pooch will usher the train eastward across Illinois Central Gulf's Iowa Division toward Chicago. The state funding cuts later in 1981 will see the train being eliminated that September.
