Remarks & Notes |
Washington's Cascade Mountains are well-known in the railfan community for both acting as a picturesque backgrounds for flatland locations (everybody loves Mt. Rainier) and the numerous scenic highlights of its three mountain passes. This is a lesser-known example of the former application: The "644," BNSF's Everett-to-Sumas local, works northward out of a tree tunnel on the Sumas Sub with Twin Sisters Mountain dominating the skyline and soaking up the last rays of light on a glorious summer afternoon. A lone bird in the distance imitates this photographer by shadowing the train's northward trek. |
