| An overnight snow had just ended and sunshine was breaking over the peaks east of Ely when Nevada Northern's Consolidation #93 left the engine house to take a lucky renter for a ride out to Keystone. With the first of the 2009 Winter Photo Shoots not scheduled to begin until later in the day, there were just two hardy photographers (including me) there to capture this scene. 93 looked beautiful in the morning light and really put on a show for the two of us...both in the yard, and later on the chase. Little did we know that a bearing problem which developed during this trip would restrict her to yard duty for the remainder of the weekend. Both of us were indeed grateful for being early risers this day! |
