| With surrounding screens and other items removed, the blast pipe is clearly visible in this photo inside the smokebox of NKP Berkshire 765. Exhaust steam from the cylinders will exit through the pipe towards the smokestack, helping to create a draft to pull air through the firebox and boiler. |
