The shot I'd wanted all my life but never there at he right time with the right power; today's the day! An empty grain train threads his way thru Congress yard, onto the main at Rusk Avenue. This train is about to curve to the viewer's left in front of the Milby Street roundhouse, then to Cullen Avenue, on to Old South then New South yard on it's way to Alvin to join the Galveston main to Bellville and Temple.
Freight Cowls are standard locomotives that have a hood that extends the full width of the locomotive. Sadly, most Freight Cowls have been retired, but a few still run on short lines.
