Five days before takeover....ICE 6419 West picks up speed headed north along the Mississippi at Green Island. This was surprising since the crew had only "one and a half" working engines. The CP unit worked, but its cab heater didn't, one ICE was dead, one wouldn't load, and the other one cut out if it was pushed too hard.
