| 40 years ago today, the curtain came down on British Railways steam operation. The finale took place on the famed Settle & Carlisle route. I'm posting several previously unseen images taken on that unforgettable day. Technically, perhaps they leave a little to be desired. Historically they're priceless. I hope you all enjoy them. |
