Continuing the adventure on July 24th, we headed for the tunnel at Cramer. Mark Lynn had very little difficulty traversing the rugged back roads in his Ford Explorer, though the downed trees and thick brush we encountered are clear evidence that the road isn’t used much anymore. Arriving at the West Portal, we did some quick brush trimming before setting up. The sun dipped behind a cloud just as the train arrived, but actually (and after looking at my train-free test shots showing severe high sun) I think this worked out better. F units on operating on a mining road in 2008. It won’t last long, folks. Get them while you can!
