An overall look at probably the newest station in the Amtrak network, known simply as "MEJ". A large sinkhole just south of Central Station has forced the City of New Orleans onto the normally freight-only Canadian National LA Belt Line. At Johnston Yard the train must perform a short backup move onto CN's Y&MV Line so it can load passengers bused down from Central Station and detrain Memphis-bound passengers onto their own buses. This situation has dragged on for a couple of months while the City of Memphis and CN argued over who should pay for the repairs; thankfully, a settlement was reached and Amtrak will soon be calling once again at Central Station.
