Remarks & Notes
With an impressive 61 cars in tow, Kawartha Lakes Railway train T08 works upgrade near Raglan, Ontario. Included in todays train is a 24 car block of grain for Quaker Oats in Peterborough, and 37 cars that would seem destined for Unimin's mines in Nepthon / Blue Mountain. Unimin Corp. is the principal shipper on the Havelock Sub and reason for it's continued existence. The grain block is not uncommon, but is much larger than normal owing to a temporary shift in production to the Peterborough plant while it's counterpart in Iowa is shutdown by flooding. Powering the train today is a typical assortment of geeps, including CP 3111, 8207, 8224, 3114 and 8229. The first four units comprise the road power while the 8229 will be spending the next two weeks in Peterborough as the town switcher, an assignment usually held by SW1200RSu 1271. 1028hrs.
