Remarks & Notes
The world's first Garrett locomotive, built in Manchester by Beyer-Peacock in 1909 for service in Tasmania, takes water on a wet, murky day in preparation to haul the first train of the day to Rhyd Ddu. The last Garrett locomotive to be built (SAR/SAS NG143) is also in service on this line.
