| My grandparents lived close to Bare Lane Station in the west coast seaside town of Morecambe. A highlight of my visits were the oil trains from Heysham terminal to Leeds. '9F' 2-10-0's were the usual motive power but steam/diesel combos were not uncommon. Here they head out of Morecambe towards the West Coast main line some 3 miles away. The crew of the '9F' appear to be letting the BR Class 2 diesel do all the work! |
