Railpictures.net viewer Jim Mardiguian writes (see below) to say that this is most likely a capture of PRR 4999, a one-of-a-kind prototype built by B-W as a competitor to the GG-1 design. The GG-1 design won-out based on its superior tracking and riding qualities, the lone wolf R-1 remained in service, often pulling the westbound Broadway Limited. It was scrapped in 1958.
