| Shot from a signalman's high rail vehicle pacing on the adjacent track, the Louisiana Steam Train Association's reborn steam locomotive (Algiers 1921) is making her first trip over the mighty Huey Long Bridge in over 50 years. She has just crested the apex over the Mississippi River and has two miles of descent before reaching the UP's Avondale Yard and a meeting with her old home rails of the former SP. This is the start of her month long tour of the state to celebrate the Lousiana Purchase Bicentennial. |
