| More Richmond Bridges…Skyscrapers now overlook the site of the Tredegar Iron Works, and the James River is full of abandoned structures. The pillars along the right side of the photo once held a bridge of the Richmond and Petersburg RR, a predecessor of the ACL, which connected to the RF&P in downtown. This bridge was rendered unnecessary with the completion of the James River viaduct seen in photo ID 226367 as an ACL-RF&P joint effort. |
