| "Churchill-Pfeil" (Churchill Arrow) just passed through the two spiral tunnels in the Biaschina on the southern side of Gotthard. In the background you can see the middle an the upper level (with Pianotondo viaduct) of this masterpiece in dealing with a height difference. This electric railcar was built in 1939 and after Sir Winston Churchill made some journeys with it during a visit in Switzerland in 1946, the name was found. |
