Built in England by Robert Stephenson in 1944, 340 is seen leaving the shed at Dematagoda, the locomotive is now rarely steamed, athough today it worked an evening special from Colombo Fort Station to Mount Lavinia, depating at 18.00pm, in very poor weather !
