| Amtrak and North Carolina DOT's train #73 "The Piedmont" is running a little late this morning as it crosses E. 36th Street on its way into the Southern Depot. F59PHI #1797 "City of Asheville" was built 12/98. The Combine is an ex FRA Hospital Car (built by St. Louis Car). Next two cars are 1965 era former Kansas City Southern cars from Pullman Standard (these are from a batch of ten, the last long-haul conventional passenger-carrying cars PS built, though they made many more commuter and Suplerliner cars). |
