Now here’s a view you normally don't see. Train #298, with GE ES44AC 8769 in the lead, is seen after pulling into Murray Siding to meet a fleet of westbounds. NOTE: The camera and tripod together were lifted onto the cab roof of the second unit, and the photo was taken from the walkway with a cable release, with the camera set on auto exposure and the lens (on manual) focused to infinity. DO NOT try this without permission!
Landscape photography is difficult due to the challenge of combining good light and good scenery. Good railroad photography enters another level of complexity since it requires the first two while there is a train in view.
A continuously growing album of photos that IMHO reveal the awesome and seldom-seen beauty of the railroad world from the dimming of day to dawn's early light! From dusk to dawn, trains roll on! (I'm still finding gems of sunset-to-sunrise surprises!)
