A dark rail line with a bright future, Conrail's Freehold Secondary is currently out of service between Freehold and Farmingdale. These tracks are the center of studies to restore passenger rail service to the area as NJ Transit's Monmouth Ocean Middlesex (MOM) Line. Despite the tracks being out of service, this crossing still has crossbucks, pavement markings, and advance warning signs. It has not been marked "Exempt," resulting in the need for school buses to stop before crossing.
