Total of 16 1142 "Brena´s" were built. It was the first electric locomotive designed and manufactured in Croatia at the begining of the 1980´s. There are 13 locos still runing, 2 of them are waiting for repairs (004 and 011) and one was lost (002) during the war on august of 1995., when the train encountered an land mine near Donje Vrbe,eastern Croatia.
