After the devastating flood of April 5, 1977, NW brought in some of its rolling stock and leased sleeping cars from Amtrak to house and feed crews that turned at Williamson. All the restaurants in downtown and the crew hotel, The Mountaineer Hotel, were out of commission for many months following the flood. Sometimes, however, not only the train crews benefitted from the diner food. The Williamson Amtrak agent's dog, Spot, (also seen in picture 203312 if you look hard) is the recipient of a hand-out here.
