| An eastbound BNSF stack train flies across the Mojave Desert at Amboy. Prior to Interstate 40's construction across the desert, Route 66 kept Amboy alive with a steady flow of traffic. These days things are nearly dormant here and the total population is estimated (by the LA Times) to be four people. |
