Remarks & Notes
When CSX was in the process of being created, NS insisted on being given trackage rights over the CSX between Balcony Falls, VA, and Lynchburg, VA. to create a "short cut" between their north-south Shenandoah line and east-west main line. The earliest trains to use the CSX were the bauxite ore trains, seen here WB at the west end of Reusens. That US&S Co., C&O signal, BTW, was retired from service and removed on August 4, 2008.
