Conrail tried to use electric motors instead of diesels as much as possible when running under the wire, but this train from Harsimus Cove in Jersey City to Potomac Yard in Crystal City VA was uner the charge of two six-axle EMDs. Among the locomotives Conrail rostered, the flares, like former Penn Central SD45 #6223 here, wore the Dress Blue particularly well.
