| Amtrak California Pacific Surfliners 763 and 774 meet at State Street in Santa Barbara. These units are sometimes called "Chevy Luminas" by engineers who complain that they run much like their GM cousin, the unloved Lumina APV mnivans of the 1990s. They were delivered in May and June of 1998 and their paint is oxidizing in the California sun. Train 763 on the right is a San Deigo to Goleta run. Train 774 on the left is a San Luis Obispo to San Diego run, aka the "Central Coast Surfliner." |
