Caught between excursion assignments, ex-California Zephyr dome-diner "Silver Lariat" is about to depart Bakersfield on the north-bound Amtrak California train #717. The car and her sister, sleeper "Silver Rapids", are owned and chartered by California Zephyr Railcar Charters.
