Remarks & Notes
Southern Pacific's Permanente Branch from San Jose to the cement plant at Permanente was a stronghold of first generation power until the early 90's. In June of 1991, GP9 3191, retired from commute service, leads the Permanente Local across Saratoga Ave. The fifth unit is a GP38 equipped with an icicle breaker, probably not needed on this days train. A new freeway to the left of the train has left this area virtually unrecognizable.
