| UP 1995 detouring on the IC&E drops down the hill at Red Barn, beginning a decent into the Mississippi River valley at Savanna. As far as I know there is no actual town of "Red Barn", the name dates from the Milwaukee Road timetable designation for this spot where the grade out of the river valley crested and has carried through 3 new owners of this trackage. Old Milwaukee heads are free to correct me if I'm wrong. |
