An one-headed Coast Starlight! Shortly after departing Oakland, one of the P42s died and the crew had to set out the disabled engine near Elmhurst. The train continued its trip south with just one engine, surprisingly enough. The "Starlate" is about 6 hours behind schedule at this point - with the engine set out adding about 1 1/2 hours to the delay.
